Our Computer Graphics program is a series of courses designed to teach students the world of graphic design. Our projects are real-world, what graphic designers experience in their profession. For people who are just looking for a creative outlet, to artists looking to explore new media, to people who wish to pursue a career as a graphic designer, Computer Graphics is a fun course for a wide range of students.
Level One: Students focus on the fun exciting world of Adobe Photoshop while learning the fundamentals of graphic design.
Level Two: Students move forward with Photoshop while exploring Adobe Illustrator as we delve into more sophisticated design concepts.
Level Three: Photoshop and Illustrator are both integral in this course that focuses on advanced concepts and projects.
Level Four: Students prepare complete, high-level portfolios for college and/or professional work.
I have been a freelance graphic designer since 1986 and have taught Computer Graphics at MHS since 1996. Every day I get to come to work and teach my life's passion to amazing young people. When people say hi to me and ask me how I am doing, my standard response has always been "living the dream." And it's true. I've been teaching the same subject, in the same room, for over two decades, and I still cannot wait to get to work in the morning. I realize just how truly blessed I am to be able to say that. I want to thank all my students, past and present, for making my job so incredibly fun and rewarding.
