Directions for online distance learning (begins Monday, March 30)

  • Current lessons will be delivered on each level's Distance Learning page (select level below).

  • Install Adobe Creative Cloud using the directions provided below (it will NOT work on a Chromebook!).
    • ​If you cannot install Adobe CC use these alternatives (and let me know immediately):
      • ​​Pixlr E (for Photoshop)​​ 
        • ​Pixlr Tutorial Playlist 
      • ​Gravit Designer (for Illustrator)
  • Submit projects for feedback and grading using the directions provided below.
  • Communication will be conducted through email only. Please do not message me through Schoology.

Distance Learning Policies

1. Do NOT use Schoology to submit projects or message me under any circumstances.

2. All communication is to be conducted through email (john.mattingly@fcps.org)

3. All files must be named appropriately at all times, most importantly the "_LastnameF". Inappropriately named files will result in a half letter grade deduction as has always been the case.


How to install Adobe CC at home

Note: You cannot download Adobe CC on a Chromebook!
Photoshop System Requirements  |   Illustrator System Requirements

1. Go to adobe.com

2. Go to Sign In at the top right

3. Log in by selecting Continue with Google

4. In Your Services (near the top middle) select Open

5. Choose the program you need from the available selection menu (Photoshop should appear first on the left)

​6. Select Get Desktop App
NOTE: Make up work is expected to be done at home. KnightsQuest is limited to direct tutoring, instructor approval or project submission.

How to upload project files to Adobe Cloud Storage

1. Go to adobe.com

2. Go to Sign In at the top right

3. Log in by selecting Continue with Google and select Enterprise ID (if asked)

4. In Your Services (near the top middle) select Open

5. Select Your Work (near the top left)

6. Choose Select Files (cloud with up arrow icon located at top right of page)

​7. Select file from your computer and select Open

How to share project files with instructor

1. Go to adobe.com

2. Go to Sign In at the top right

3. Log in by selecting Continue with Google and select Enterprise ID (if asked)

4. Select Your Work (near the top left)

5. Select desired file

​6. Select Get Link icon (box with up arrow located at top right)

7. Make sure Allow Commenting and Allow Save to Creative Cloud are enabled (default)

8. Select Copy Link

9. Paste link and any additional questions/comments to john.mattingly@fcps.org

10. EVERY TIME YOU NEED ME TO CHECK SOMETHING YOU MUST SEND A NEW LINK!
