WEEK EIGHT (Due by the end of Thursday, May 21)

WALK CYCLE

DUE THURSDAY MAY 21 | Complete your Walk Cycle animation by adding your two-level parallax background.
  • Make any necessary adjustments to your animated character so that it loops without any visual hiccups. This means the first and last frame must be identical. Tutorials are allowed.
  • Make sure that your feet do not appear to "slide" on the ground, a common mistake in walk cycles. Tutorials are allowed.
  • Make sure the two-level parallax background loops without any visual hiccups. This means your first frame and last frame must be identical, just like when we did your actual Parallax project. Tutorials are allowed.
  • You are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to SHARE YOUR PROGRESS throughout the week to gain FEEDBACK ON HOW TO IMPROVE your project and get it to my level of expectations BEFORE SUBMISSION FOR GRADING.

WEEK SEVEN (Multiple due dates | See below)

WALK CYCLE

STEP 1:  DUE THURSDAY MAY 14 | Share your completed walk cycle animation according to the requirements given in Week Six (see below). Make sure your file is set to loop so I can make sure you do not have any visible "hiccups." Once this is approved you may move on to Step 2 (adding 2-level parallax background). You are encouraged to share this with me prior to the midnight Thursday deadline to allow time for revisions.
STEP 2: DUE NEXT WEEK | Add a two-level parallax background. Make sure that your feet do not appear to "slide" on the ground, a common mistake in walk cycles. You are encouraged to share this with me prior to the midnight Tuesday deadline to allow time for revisions.

WEEK SIX (Multiple due dates | See below)

KINETIC TYPOGRAPHY

NOTE: I shared your Personal folder via Google Drive. If you did not receive this, email me immediately (john.mattingly@fcps.org)
NOTE: Do not forget about all of the resources in our Animation Pilot folder on Google Drive. Although I do not think we updated the document to reflect our decision to do Animate instead of After Effects. If I remember that decision wrong, please email me immediately (john.mattingly@fcps.org)

STEP 1: Download all Kinetic Typography project files from Personal folder (shared via Google Drive).

STEP 2: Upload your Kinetic Typography Animate file to Adobe's cloud (following directions HERE). This will become the most current file version of your project. You will no longer need the original file I shared through Google Drive.

STEP 3: Share your Kinetic Typography Animate file in Adobe CC with me (following directions HERE). This will allow me to always be able to see the most current version of your project.

STEP 4: Download Audacity audio editor HERE.

STEP 5: Complete Kinetic Typography project according to the guidelines below. When done, email me to discuss and approve (john.mattingly@fcps.org).

Audio Instructions: Must be a 16 bit sound file in order for audio to import correctly (to change audio to 16 bit in Audacity you must go to the drop down menu next to your audio name, then go to the set sample format option and click 16 bit PCM; keep project Hz rate at 44100); For audio the first frame must be a blank keyframe. In the second frame make another keyframe and insert the audio into that keyframe. Add frames for desired length.)
